Along with physical resources (such as books, DVDs, and CDs) and consultations with our staff, PCR offers opportunities for those involved in church ministry to learn more about a particular topic by attending workshops led by well-known authors and church leaders as well as other experts in various fields.
Past workshop leaders include Paul Nixon, author of I Refuse to Lead a Dying Church, Jane Vennard, who wrote A Praying Congregation, and Marcia McFee, creator of the Worship Design Studio.
These workshops offer the opportunity to see and hear the leader in person, ask questions, and share the experience with like-minded people. When a group from a church attends, it often sparks a renewal of interest in a particular area or even the start of a new ministry.
In the past few years PCR has begun offering webinars which fit in better with many people’s busy lifestyles than attending a workshop in person. Those who attend these live on their computer still have the experience of hearing from an expert and asking questions but don’t have to leave the comfort of their home or church. All webinars are recorded and can be viewed at any time up to a year after they are offered.
Visit our website to see the webinars we’re offering for $10 each as well as our free webinars. Our paid webinars cover a wide range of topics from churches using social media, ways to enhance worship, taking a community survey, and creating a welcoming atmosphere. Our free webinars offer topics of interest to those in Christian education and Sunday school; we’ll be adding free youth ministry webinars in the near future.
For those looking to get together with other people and share ideas and concerns about various areas of church life, we offer free roundtables at our center. Topics of upcoming roundtables include Lent and Easter programs and activities, building a website, spiritual practices for women, and a hands-on roundtable on starting a card ministry.
The topics of our webinars, workshops, and roundtables are determined by current trends as well as what people are asking about when they use our services. Do you have a topic you’d like to see covered? Let us know by commenting below. Our calling is helping you!
