Join us for a summer retreat out on the East End of Long Island. It will be held at the First Congregational Church of Riverhead on Saturday, August 9 from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.
The church is located at 103 First Street in Riverhead. (GPS address is 108 East Main Street in Riverhead.)
The name of the retreat is “The Jesus Way: A Native American Approach to Christianity” and will explore spiritual practices in the Native American tradition. There will be opportunities for participants to experience new pathways to connect with God, the creator, as well as a greater appreciation of our earth and other cultures.
The retreat will be led by Karen Smith of Practical Resources for Churches along with Rev. Sean Murray of the First Congregational Church of Riverhead. There will also be activities led by Tipi Ted from the Traveling Wilderness Museum.
There is no fee for the retreat but there will be a free will offering. Participants are asked to register by August 6 so that enough supplies can be prepared. Registration can be made online, by e-mail, or by phone: 631-821-2255.
Please bring a bag lunch and wear comfortable clothing. Some activities will be outside but an air-conditioned room is also available.
