Practical Resources for Churches has two upcoming webinars for those involved in stewardship in their churches. They will be led by Rev. Paul Nickerson, an ordained United Church of Christ pastor for over 30 years. He has served local churches for 20 years, served as conference staff for 10 years and is now a full-time teacher and coach.
The first webinar is Plan Your Year Round Stewardship Campaign and will be given on Tuesday, August 5, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. EDT. The webinar will focus on stewardship as a year round process, not just a brief campaign in the fall ending with the collection of pledges. Year round teaching, sharing and planning is what grows faithful disciples and the webinar will show congregations how they can develop a holistic process to help people grow in faith and give generously to a mission that makes a difference.
On Tuesday, August 26, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. EDT, Rev. Nickerson will present a second webinar, Planning Your Fall Financial Campaign. He will talk about an alternative to the typical fall financial campaign, where one form letter is sent to all church members which explains the budget and asks people to give generously. This approach leads to underfunded budgets and flat-line giving, but there is a way to meet people where they are on their journey of faith and customize the way we ask for contributions. This way will help people to step up and grow in faith as part of a stewardship campaign that changes lives, inspires giving and fuels mission.
The webinars cost $10 each but are free for those who are members of the New York Annual Conference of the United Church of Christ. The webinars will be recorded and available to view for a year after they’re presented. To register just follow the links on this page or visit PRC’s webinar page.
