PRC is offering a free retreat at the Bayport United Methodist Church on Saturday, November 8, from 9:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. The retreat is titled “Slowing Down: Preparing our Hearts for Advent” and will explore the true meaning of the season through spiritual practices and other activities. There will a labyrinth available to walk, opportunities to journal spiritually, creative arts activities, and interactive prayer stations. The retreat will be led by Debbie Kolacki, senior consultant of PRC.
Participants will learn how to slow down, listen to God’s quiet voice, and prepare their hearts for the coming of Christ. There will be suggestions on ways to distance yourself from the materialism of the season along with ideas for simple, meaningful gifts to make or purchase from fair trade and charitable organizations. At the end of the retreat, some items from SERRV will be available for purchase.
There is no charge for the retreat but there will be a free will offering. Preregistration is required by November 5. To register, call 631-821-2255 or send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org.
