Ministering to today’s families

Is teaching faith formation at home important? Is it necessary for children and youth who attend Sunday school and other church activities on a regular basis?  The answer is a resounding “yes”! Research shows that the family is the most powerful influence on the faith development of children and it is therefore important for churches to partner with families for this task.

PRC recently presented a webinar called “Equipping Families to Teach the Faith to their Children” which offered information on why the family is so important for children’s faith formation, as well as a list of resources to help families take on this responsibility. It also talked about the benefits of intergenerational ministry, where children and youth worship, learn, and serve together with their parents and other adults.

We’ll be offering a series of webinars on various aspects of intergenerational and family ministry in early 2015. We will have experts in the field who will be explaining the benefits of intentionally having the generations together and how to expand current ministries to include every age group.
